Biopuremax

Biopuremax specializes in RO (Reverse Osmosis) water pretreatment using a technology that targets bacterial buildup and ensures high-quality water for pharmaceutical and biotech industries. As one of the largest design and build contractors for controlled environments in the Dutch life sciences, we know how crucial it is to have reliable and high-quality water in the pharmaceutical manufacturing process.

The traditional systems of using organic media, chemicals, and plastic piping are susceptible to bacterial contamination and can negatively impact the health of patients.

Biopuremax’s technology, which involves electrically reducing scale in the ESRTM unit and the HODTM unit for destroying free chlorine using UV, is a safer and more effective alternative that minimizes costs while maximizing the quality of water used in pharmaceuticals.

The ESRTM unit utilizes an electrical current to reduce scale formation in the water. It effectively prevents precipitation in RO membranes without the need for traditional salt-based water softening methods. By eliminating scale-forming ions, the ESR unit ensures the water remains of high quality throughout the pharmaceutical process.

The HODTM unit employs ultraviolet (UV) radiation to eliminate free chlorine present in the water. This process is highly efficient and doesn’t require the use of chemical de-chlorination agents. By de-chlorinating the water, the HOD unit guarantees a safe and environmentally friendly water treatment process.

Sinds 2017 is productie van water voor injectie (WFI) met
membranen goedgekeurd door de Europese autoriteiten.
Voorwaarde zijn twee membraanbarrières en een verhoogde
controle van de microbiologische niveaus van het systeem.
Een viertal cases worden behandeld met Reversed Osmose
(RO) geproduceerd WFI en Elektrolytic Scale Reduction (ESR)
en Hydro Optic Disinfection (HOD) als voorbehandeling. De
ESR-HOD voorbehandeling werkt zonder (hars)media en
zonder chemicaliën. In de voorbehandeling is sprake van
een Constante Bacteriële Reductie (CBR) doordat het water
voortdurend wordt gedesinfecteerd met chloor (ontstaan
tijdens de electrolyse in de ESR) en hoge doses UV-straling
van de HOD. In case 1-3 wordt aangetoond dat er met de
combinaties ESR-HOD-RO-RO-CDI (Continuous De-ionization)
en ESR-HOD-RO-CDI-UF (Ultra Filtration) op betrouwbare
wijze WFI wordt geproduceerd.
