The new cleanroom is an expansion of existing activities and had already been planned in 2019—well before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In De Meern, Kuijpers has built a brand-new cleanroom for the Dutch company ViCentra, developer and manufacturer of the colorful, small, and lightweight insulin pump Kaleido. With this, the young company is fully set to take Kaleido to the global market.
Sanquin is developing a Health & Innovation District (Hid) around its headquarters in Amsterdam. On this campus, companies and startups in transfusion medicine, oncology, immunology, and hematology can grow, collaborate, and share facilities. One of the buildings was recently renovated by Kuijpers, who handled the design and the structural and technical implementation.
Washing workwear under the most hygienic conditions. CWS does it in Eindhoven. For this, Kuijpers built a large cleanroom laundry next to the existing CWS cleanroom. The installations are well hidden above the ceiling—except for the filter fan units. No fewer than 120 of them. Together, they form the entire ceiling and provide all the ventilation capacity needed for an ultra-clean environment.
Cleanroom installations are already highly advanced due to their role in creating an ultra-clean working environment. In the new cleanroom of Sioux Technologies Assembly in Eindhoven, Kuijpers added another element: an energy-efficient configuration of the air treatment system. This setup ensures optimal cleanliness by allowing each fan filter unit in every room to be individually adjusted and controlled.

Under significant time pressure, Kuijpers built a new ISO-class 7 cleanroom for Oliver Healthcare Packaging in Venray. The project faced several challenges, but both Kuijpers and the client teams stayed focused. The result: a production environment now considered the flagship of this international player in medical packaging manufacturing.
Kuijpers is building a new production facility for the biopharmaceutical company HALIX at the Leiden Bio Science Park. This company will start using its brand-new cleanrooms here at the end of 2019.
At Fujifilm in Tilburg, a factory building once used for packaging photo rolls is being transformed into a high-tech production facility for manufacturing cell culture media. Fujifilm brought in Kuijpers to design and build the cleanroom within the building. The production facility was completed in early 2021.
In Breda, a brand-new production facility has been built for the American biomedical company Repligen. Kuijpers acted as the main contractor and equipped the building—which includes cleanrooms, a laboratory, and several offices—with high-quality systems and installations based on GMP qualifications. It was a complex project with a tight schedule and several challenges. Good organization, flexibility, and creativity ensured the timeline was met as agreed.
In the fight against COVID-19, Kuijpers was directly involved with several vaccine developers. To deliver more coronavirus vaccines, a Dutch manufacturer urgently needed to expand its production capacity. That’s why Kuijpers, SISK, DPS, and Van Lith Bouwbedrijf joined forces to realize the complex facility within an exceptionally short turnaround time.
